Texas City Local History and Archives

Welcome to the Archives at the Moore Memorial Public Library located in Texas City, Texas.  The Archive collects, preserves, and serves as a repository for historically significant archival material related to the rich history of Texas City.  

Holdings in the Local History Collection comprise both original materials and reproductions in a variety of formats including books, ephemera, newsletters, reports, newspapers, newspaper clippings,  letters, manuscripts, maps, scrapbooks, photographs, postcards, paintings, negatives, microfilm, sound recordings, oral history interviews, city directories, yearbooks, reference genealogy books, vertical files, videotapes, and films.  

Featured holdings in the archive are the H.B. Moore and Helen Moore collections, the Mainland Company collection, the 1947 Disaster collection, and our Oral History collections.
