Services: Disaster Response: "...trained to meet all kinds of emergencies by providing food, shelter, clothing. Salvation Army Disaster Radio, Food pantries: "Families and individuals...are eligible to receive food meet their needs for several days." Rent/Utility Assistance: "For those who find themselves in the middle of an unexpected crisis, Salvation Army assistance with rent and utility bill payments may be just the thing..." Clothing and Household Goods: "For Texans in need of emergency clothing, household goods, or furniture, vouchers may be offered by one of our social service caseworkers. The vouchers can be used at one of our local thrift stores or designated retail outlets to purchase items that they need." There are also special services for seniors, people who need temporary shelter, and some programs for children.

Services provided: in home health care services, emergency response services, and home-delivered meal services.

Teen Health Centers

Anyone through age 21 can visit these clinics, but if you are under 18, you need a consent form signed by a parent or guardian. "Our medical services include: examination, diagnosis and treatment of both acute and chronic illness, immunizations, well-child exams, well-woman exams, treatment of minor injuries, physical exams including work and sport physicals. Our mental health services include care for: depression, school problems (LD and ADHD), family problems, anxiety, grief counselling, and stress management. Appointments are preferred." "The Nessler Senior Center was established in 1977 for citizens 55 years or older. As a part of a comprehensive community strategy to meet the needs of older adults, the Nessler Senior Center offers a diverse program and services Monday through Friday: dominoes, bingo, pokeno, arts & crafts, line dancing, inspirational class, Sit-N-Be Fit, monthly presentations, monthly health screenings, and special holiday/event celebrations.

Before a participant takes part in the program, a completed registration form and transportation waiver must be completed."

Transportation Services
"Daily transportation is provided to and from the center to persons 55 years or older who live in Texas City, West Texas City, and La Marque who participate in the Nessler Program. It is the passenger's responsibility to notify the driver or call the main number at (409)-643-5877 by no less than 8 a.m. the morning of pickup. Transportation is also provided locally for shopping, errands, doctor's appointments, special outings, day trips, etc."
